We are to invite, receive and care for guests. No one should ever come to Saint Paul as a guest and not feel that we were excited to have them join us for worship. All members should have a sense of belonging to the Saint Paul Family. It is very important that we cultivate the spirit of one in the Body of Christ working together for the Kingdom of God. We all have gifts and talents that God has given us to use for the Body of Christ (Church). These questions will hopefully give you a sense of what we need to do as a church family to make every visitor feel welcomed. 1. Invite others to worship with us. Recruit additional volunteers for the kitchen staff so that the same small group of people will not be over-worked. Volunteers should see Barbara Thomas. In order to sign up for class to become certified for food service, see the church office for the schedule. Recommended Scriptures which relate to Radical Hospitality: If you are not working in a ministry, please see Shirley Harris on Sundays, or contact her through the church office (301-567-4433) or via email at sharris@stpumcmd.org
Please take a moment to reflect upon:
1. What brought you to St. Paul?
2. How didyou first hear about the church?
3. What was the first service or activity you attended?
4. What made you feel welcomed?
5. Did anything make it difficult for you to connect initially?
Radical Hospitality Achievement Goals for 2010
2. Follow up with all visitors.
3. Plan receptions for new members, so they can get to know other church members and vice versa.
4. Organize the Birthday Committee to serve as shepherds and phone tree, so that all information of illness and other concerns will get to the church office and the pastor.
5. Recruit everyone to volunteer to help welcome and serve our guests during Warm Nights (March 21-28).
