Visitation Ministry
I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.
-Matthew 25:36,”
Our Ministerial Staff makes sure this need is met. In 2013 The Birthday/Shepherding Committee will be more efficient and keep better record of their efforts because it is important that no one is overlooked in their time of need.
This is a ministry where you can be present in someone's life when they are going through a difficult time. It could be the sick or shut-in, the elderly, one experiencing the death of a loved one, or other area of concern. Nothing helps the healing process like knowing someone cares.
Can you ...
- Say a kind word or prayer
- Read a book, poem, scripture, letter, etc.
- Smile
- Speak a kind word
- Provide a listening ear
- Wipe a brow
- Cook a meal
- Run an errand, pick-up medication
- Send a card
- Make a telephone call
All members of St. Paul @ Oxon Hill are also members of this work area because we have all had family members, relatives, friends, co-workers or neighbor who have been sick and have visited them. In 2013 we will make sure that every member is cared for with a call, card and/or visitation.
So our plea is for you to become an active member of the Birthday/Shepherding committee and help the Radical Hospitality Ministry truly care for members and others when they need care most.
